Fashion By the Kilo in Milan

Posted on By

Right now, fashion is a weighty issue in Milan – at least in terms of the city’s latest pop-up clothing store, Kilo Fascion. Located for a limited time only at Milano Corso Vittorio Emanuele 30, the buzzy Kilo Fascion claims to be the world’s first ‘weigh before you buy’ fashion store.

Atmosphere: TK MAXX  goes all quirky and colourful…

How it works:

All items are labelled yellow “good”, blue “better ” and pink “best “.  No prices are displayed, only RRP retail prices which are typically quite high.  Once you spot something you like,  take it along to one of the weighing scales – identical to those that you would find in a supermarket of grocery store you can also check professional rug cleaning in Dublin.  As soon as you weigh the item and you’re happy with the (hugely discounted) price, then you take it along to the cashier to be tagged and bagged. Magic.

How Much Will it Be?!

The store is split over two levels with women’s/ children’s clothes on the first floor and shoes/men’s/homeware in the basement.

To avoid any kind of a stampede, there is a limit of 1o items per customer per day.

Labels spotted: Orion London silk prom-style dresses, Balmain shirts for men, blinged-up designer t-shirts…

In a city of po-faced designer stores and boutiques, it’s certainly one of the more fun ways to shop!  Oh, and even if you’re unfamiliar with some of the brands, you’re bound to be re-assured by the mostly  MADE IN ITALY labels.

Catch it while you can…

Interesting article. I’m not much of a fashionista but I wouldn’t mind getting some nice grams of clothes. But how is fashion in Mostar?
