The Fashion Edit: Jordaan Amsterdam

Posted on By

Ice cubes clink into glasses. Bicycle bells clang. Nothing could sound better today on the sun-dappled banks of the Prinsengracht.

Beginning at Brouwersgracht, just west of Centraal Station and arching around the Canal Ring between Prinsengracht and Lijnbaansgraacht and up to Leidesgracht, The Jordaan’s narrow canal-side streets are filled with trendy cafés, art galleries and some of the best outdoor markets in the Netherlands.

The most well-known of these, Noordermarkt, holds a flea market on Monday mornings and an organic farmers’ market each Saturday.

Meanwhile, the side-streets running south of Westerstraat have recently developed a strong culinary reputation with some of the city’s most fashionable restaurants setting up home here.

I like the sunglasses, but I am not sure the rest of the items would quite fit my style. Lovely pictures of Ansterdam.

The canal-side houses are so impressive Francesca, in fact was surprised by how beautiful the city’s architecture is in general.
