Travel Edits | How to Travel Like an A-Lister in Dublin Airport

So you may not quite have bagged yourself a private jet (yet) but there are still a number of ways you can take to the skies like a Hollywood star the next time you fly from Dublin Airport. Inject some glamour into your pre-flight routine with these very special treats – they’re open to everyone all year through…

A Spa Break for Your Car

Before you get ready to kick back at 30,000 feet, leave your car in the tender loving care of  the ‘beauticians’ at Dublin Airport’s Quick Park and indulge in the Platinum Finish. This premium service promises the following: hand wash, chamois dry, machine wax and buff, interior vacuum including boot, complete interior valet, alloy wheels polished and sealed, all finished with a spritz of a fragrance of your choice. How’s that for a welcome home?

Designer Cocktails

Perfect for a luxurious pre-flight beverage, Tailors Bar in Terminal 2 offers a range of cocktails based on Ketel One Vodka, Tanqueray gin, and Roe & Co Irish whiskey. The décor of the bar takes its inspiration from the worlds of fashion and fine tailoring – it’s stylish and refined, and feels like stepping back into the golden age of air travel. Teetotal fliers will also discover a fine selection of upscale mocktail options.

Lounge Lizards

Flying to the US? Aer Lingus provides a number of lounges at Dublin airport where you can relax and rewind before embarking on  your transatlantic adventure. 51st&Green Lounge – US Pre-Clearance is open to business class, Aer Club Concierge and Platinum cardholders only and offers a barista bar with complimentary fresh, seasonal food served throughout the day, complimentary drinks, entertainment area with sports channels, and shower facilities. Looking to freshen up on arrival from North America? Aer Lingus’ Revival Lounge is located in Terminal 2 and provides business class travellers with complimentary refreshments, shower rooms, and ironing/steam press services to ensure you look your best for your onward journey.

Platinum Services

Leave pushy queues and overcrowded departure gates behind and get back to the glory days of travel with Dublin Airport’s Platinum Services. A five-star welcome awaits from the moment you arrive at the dedicated car park and private terminal entrance. Expect a private meet and greet on arrival, a private security area, private check-in and luggage handling, luxury private suites, a complimentary menu and a chauffeur service to your aircraft.

Too bad I didn’t know about all these great things the last time I was in Dublin. One thing that I thought was great is that I can go through US customs in Dublin. It’s so great to land in Houston and not have to deal with customs after a long flight.

That’s a great one Leah, I think we take this for granted a lot of the time that we don’t have to go through customs – long may this last!

I didn’t know about these things when I visited last. To be fair, I didn’t even make it to the lounge as it was a close call. The VIP Suite is SO calling my name!

I would settle with a beer, but these stylish options definitely would be enticing if I had a few extra travel dollars to spend.
