Prague is a beautiful city which can be easily visited at any time of the year but it truly comes into its own during the winter months.  In fact I can’t imagine a better time of the year to experience the Czech capital.  With the Christmas market  in full swing until January 13th, the Czechs really make the most of the city’s most magical season.  The following photo edit offers but a glimpse of its Disney-like beauty. If you haven’t been, you really should see Prague in winter to soak up the cosy atmosphere of Christmas lights, hot wine, toasted almonds and festive cheer…

The Christmas tree in all of its glory

The centrepiece of the Old Town Square’s market is the Christmas tree, which is decorated with hundreds of lights and switched on every evening at 5pm.  Nearby, there is a stage where Christmas concerts and plays take place regularly over the festive period. When empty, it makes a great vantage point for photographs – something to keep in mind next year if you’ve been won over by these images!
